Government Contract-Three (3) Application Developer (Java) - 7 months – Toronto- Description of Assignment/Scope of Work Reporting to the Director of Information & Applications Services’ Unit in the Information & Technology Division, the Three (3) Application Developer (Java) will work with our Client's project and technical leads to develop an integrated Lobbyist Registry System. Assignment Duties 1. Responsible for effective development and implementation of web-based applications on the corporate internet/intranet web systems, including but not limited to: web system design and web system development. 2. Manage the development of server-side web-based solutions for information access and business transactions 3. Use highly developed analytical skills to research problems and deal with highly complex issues 4. Create system documentation, write reports and prepare correspondence 5 .Deliver presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences 6. Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager Qualifications: It is important that the Services be undertaken by a Java Application Developer who can demonstrate specific knowledge of, and experience in performing similar work for projects of comparable nature, size and scope as detailed below. Java Application Developer(s) Experience: University degree in computer science or related discipline, and considerable years of 'progressively more responsible' experience working on large-scale information technology projects or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience; Demonstrated experience in the development of J2EE based database driven web-applications; Demonstrated experience in the development web based IBM Websphere applications using Oracle databases; Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of current and emerging Web-based technologies, including object-relation-mapping tools, enterprise integration technology and light-weight containers; Demonstrated usage of SDLC methodology, standards and documentation; Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting technical materials, including standards, procedures, and technical specifications to all levels of management and staff; Demonstrated experience in applying design patterns and j2ee development practices and tools Demonstrated experience in system integration testing; Performed this role on multiple (3-4) large projects with a track record of success; Demonstrated experience working on public online government projects Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities Java Application Developer(s) Technical Capabilities: 4+ years software development experience, with a minimum 4 in Java/J2EE development 2+ years of hands on experience in using Apache Struts framework 2+ years of hands on experience in using Spring framework 2+ year of hands on experience in using Hibernate programming 2+ year of experience in large Java/J2EE development-projects 2+ year of hands on experience with UML object oriented modeling 2+ experience using Eclipse, WSAD 5 or RAD 6 2+ years of hands on experience developing SQL Experience with testing methodologies, unit and integration testing including experience using CVS, Maven and CruiseControl experience is a plus working on large-scale information technology projects or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience; Demonstrated experience in the development of J2EE based database driven web-applications; Demonstrated experience in the development web based IBM Websphere applications using Oracle databases; Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of current and emerging Web-based technologies, including object-relation-mapping tools, enterprise integration technology and light-weight containers; Demonstrated usage of SDLC methodology, standards and documentation; Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting technical materials, including standards, procedures, and technical specifications to all levels of management and staff; Demonstrated experience in applying design patterns and j2ee development practices and tools Demonstrated experience in system integration testing; Performed this role on multiple (3-4) large projects with a track record of success; Demonstrated experience working on public online government projects Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities _____________ To apply to this excellent opportunity or if you know of a friend or relative who match these skills, please forward resumes in a word format to:jobs@profilesolutions.com Apply information: Please include the job header in the subject of your e-mail.
