Government 1 Year + Contract- QA Tester - Intermediate-1 year + Contract- Toronto Project Title:Purchasing System Replacement/Inventory System Replacement Position Title:QA Tester Project Details and Requirements The Inventory System Replacement project will replace the current MMS Inventory system with a new system from Industrial Financial Systems (IFS). The client is also replacing the Purchasing system. Both projects are being combined and executed over the same timeframe. One instance of the IFS system will be used for both Inventory and Purchasing. The IFS system will be installed with limited modifications and will interface with a number of existing Clients applications. Data will be migrated from MMS and other sources for this implementation. New business procedures, manuals, etc. will be produced prior to rollout. This assignment will run over the remaining 2 project phases: Development phase - 45 weeks, Implementation phase - 7 weeks. Description of Duties/Scope of Work: Working under the supervision of the QA Analyst/Lead, the QA Tester will be responsible for the development of test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and expected results as specified by the overall test strategy and test plan to comprehensively test all new business procedures and system processes developed to support Inventory, Purchasing, and Stores. The QA Tester will also be responsible for execution of the test cases, documentation of actual results, and documenting resulting issues for resolution. Special Skills/Certification Required: Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills Minimum of seven years Project QA experience in a client server & web environment. Solid understanding of System Development Life Cycle Experience creating QA strategies for project life cycle Clear understanding of Business Requirements, Statement of Work, and Test Strategies as they apply to projects Experience with testing COTS software with customizations Knowledge of testing methodologies. Experience in writing test documentation. Knowledge and experience in tracking problems and defects. Solid experience in executing testing and analyzing the results. Experience using IFS system an asset Expert in quality assurance, test planning, and test execution. Experience in client server applications testing including windows client Experience using Automated Test tools; experience with Compuware Test tools an asset Working knowledge of Windows NT, Windows XP and MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong QA engineering background. University/Community College degree in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Certification in Software Quality Engineering or equivalent a definite asset. Experience in SQL development. Experience with Oracle PL/SQL an asset.
