Job ID: Govt Contract 4 month - Disaster Recovery Coordinator Position Title: Disaster Recovery Coordinator Project Description: Our client is seeking to acquire the services of a Disaster Recovery Coordinator for the Infrastructure Project Office of the Infrastructure Services Division Responsibilities: •Provides specialised technological support for the development and implementation of test plans for Disaster Recovery of our clients Core Applications and Corporate Systems. •Ensures testing is conducted in a timely manner. •Review results for completeness. •Follows up on actions required to resolve issues and reschedules testing as required. •Maintains Operations Business Continuity Plans including Pandemic Plans and liaisons with other areas to ensure completeness of the overall Infrastructure Plan. Observes ongoing operations and performance to identify problems. •Maintains all aspects of rules data base for the Operations Automation environments. •Ensures backup are maintained and that any new requirements are diligently testing before implementation. •Interprets messages from the automation software or programs and performs required actions. •Does second tier problem determination. •Schedules maintenance and testing activities. Required Experience Levels •Post secondary degree / diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent •Develops, implements, reviews and manages business continuity and disaster recovery plans from an Operations perspective. •4 - 6 years of experience in the provision of technology support in a complex distributed Operations Environment •Strong background with Business Continuity and Disaster Backup methods and services •Familiar with Operations requirements for Monitoring Complex environments ( CA Unicenter, Net IQ, Tivoli, Openview etc ) Required General Skills •Experience in providing specialised technological support for a ‘high availability Systems’ at the specified level of proficiency •Ability to conduct any and all types of disaster recovery testing plans and analyses the results for completeness. •Is a strong member of the Business Resumption/Disaster Recovery Team and represent Infrastructure Operations in all aspects. •Provides support for the Automation environment by maintaining the update and creation of rules for automation that reflect the current and future requirement f of both automation and Disaster recovery •Experience with a complex large Operations Server environment. •Knowledge of emerging IT technologies and trends •Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills •A team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlines •Knowledge of Operations Environments and Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Processes and Procedures. Desirable General Skills •Experience with systems management tools •Experience with configuration management systems •Certification •Knowledge of and experience in the healthcare sector Environment/Platform Specific Technical Skills •Unix, Wintel Operating Systems •Operations Automations Tools and Processes •Virtual Private Networks (VPN) technologies for remote support. •N.B.
