I witnessed auction of 80 acres plus 3BR 2BA brick house (1992) w/ two large sheds & pond for $265k. Locals tell me the house accounts for over $200k of that. This was 1.5 hours south of Kansas City. That would be a little high for that location, but not bubblicious. Lots of family farms around there, but it continues to be tricky. This was a good year for wheat. On local news this morning, third house fire in three days in Kansas City. New-looking McMansion burnt to a crisp with no one injured. No mention as to arson investigation, and I don't know how they are doing vis-a-vis foreclosures in KC, but still...
