This belies the facts. George Tenant is on record testifying before
congress that he felt we should NOT invade Iraq. You don't have to
believe me, nor even the Wall Street Journal, just do the google search
yourself and check the Senate's web site to verify my claim.
The author is also clearly a neo-con and hardly an unbiased source.
Here's what Bush himself said BEFORE Joe Wilson did his work ...
"Today Saddam Hussein has the scientists and infrastructure for a
nuclear weapons program, and has illicitly sought to purchase the
equipment needed to enrich uranium for a nuclear weapon. Should his
regime acquire fissile material, it would be able to build a nuclear
weapon within a year."
This is from Bush's radio speech on Sept. 14, 2002
The link is
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/09/20020914.html
In his State of the Union Speech on January 28, 2003, Bush said
"Our intelligence officials estimate that Saddam Hussein had the
materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve
agent. In such quantities, these chemical agents could also kill untold
thousands. He's not accounted for these materials. He has given no
evidence that he has destroyed them."
The link is here
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/01/20030128-23.html
knowing what we know now, it is reasonable to ask why Bush has opposed
at every turn setting up an independent and unbiased panel to research
why this intelligence was clearly wrong and why Bush relied on it so
much without bothering to do any kind of verification before sending
thousands of young Americans off to die in Iraq and wasting billions of
our tax dollars. What has Bush to hide by supporting a truly independent
investigation of the Iraq war intelligence?
The lies Bush told go beyond those involving Joe Wilson, for example,
back on 2003, Bush said
"It goes on to say, although we assess that Saddam does not yet have
nuclear weapons or sufficient material to make any, he remains intent on
acquiring them. Most agencies assess that Baghdad started reconstituting
its nuclear program at the time that UNSCOM inspectors departed,
December of 1998."
and in this same press conference, here we see
" As we've already disclosed publicly, George Tenet had a brief
telephone conversation with me during the clearance process for the
October 7 Cincinnati speech. This was the one -- he asked that any
reference to Iraq's attempt to purchase uranium from sources from Africa
to be deleted from the speech. The language he was referring to when he
made that call was language that said the following -- and I'll just
quote it -- "And the regime has been caught attempting to purchase
substantial amounts of uranium oxide from sources in Africa, and a
central ingredient in the enrichment process."
The link is
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/07/20030722-12.html
So we see here in Bush's own press conference that the White House
admits it was asked by the CIA not to include any references to the
report that Joe Wilson claimed was bogus.
And in the very same document, it goes on to say
" On page three of that memorandum, there's a reference to a sentence
that appears in draft six of the Cincinnati speech. And that sentence
read as follows: "And the regime" -- and here they're talking about the
Iraqi regime -- "And the regime has been caught attempting to purchase
up to 500 metric tons of uranium oxide from sources in Africa, and the
central ingredient for the enrichment process."
Now, with respect to that sentence, the October 5 CIA memorandum asked
that we remove the sentence because the amount, 500 tons, is in dispute
and it is debatable whether it can be acquired from the source. "
If you read the above document on the White Hose web site, you can
already see that the Bush administration is squirming about its claim
that Saddam was trying to get materials to build nuclear weapons.
Bush is a liar, pure and simple. By the way, where are the WMD?

Tell us that the WMD wasn't shipped to the Baathists in Syria as Saddam's
former General says, and as a top former secret intelligence agent who
defected from Syria has said as well! You mean to tell us that the
President who comforted the victims of 9/11 and spent time with their
families, and who promised to do something about terrorism, was simply
playing them for fools like Clinton would? Clinton is still lying and not
admitting he had 13 different opportunities via his CIA to kill Osama Bin
Laden and either he or his people underneath him would never okay it!
Clinton had to push for a Mid-East peace process when my former Shiite
Muslim friend was telling me in 1998, that Clinton was a fool, because the
PLO only wanted the destruction of Israel and the West -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0ObL2Clh8g,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvpKQTjAb2U, and then Clinton stopped Robert
Baer in 1995 from working with one of Saddam's former Generals and the Kurds
in overthrowing him from within.
Plus what did you want to wait for Shawn? Did you want him to acquire
Nuclear weapons, since he still had his scientists, and his infrastructure,
and even his scientists admitted he was only 6 months away from
reconstituting his Nuclear Program, is that what you really wanted Shawn?
For us to have to worry about roadside Nuclear IEDs or Dirty Bomb IEDs or
mortars used against our Military? Did you really want to see Hamas running
into some part of Israel with an back-pack A-Bomb or Dirty Bomb and see
deaths in the tens of thousands? You know he was willing to do it because
Clinton's own CIA caught him on tape saying so -

Learn from history? Evidently, you forgot about Vietnam. You also seem
to foster that myth that Iraq had something to do with the 9/11 attacks.
WMD may have been shipped to the Baathists in Syria, so why would
attacking Iraq resolve that problem?
