Subject: [LOCAL] Fairfax VA 20 January: Microsoft Windows Vista demo
From: Geof Goodrum
Date: 1/1/2007 3:59:14 PM
You are invited to the next meeting of the Washington Area Computer User
Group (WACUG), scheduled on Saturday, January 20th from 12:30 PM to
3:30 PM at the Fairfax Government Center, 12000 Government Center
Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Preregistration is not required to attend.
Our January meeting will feature a demonstration of Microsoft's latest
Windows operating system, Vista(tm)! Arriving two years behind
schedule, will Windows Vista revolutionize personal computing, or just
empty the pockets of those who upgrade to the new software? With its
multiple versions and highest prices ever for a PC operating system, how
do you chose? Should you upgrade, or wait until you buy a new computer?
WACUG's resident Windows expert Bob Mason can help you decide.
Time-permitting, the meeting will also include first-hand video and news
from the International Consumer Electronics Show held this month in Las
Vegas.
The meeting will begin with a brief Annual Meeting of the Corporation
and election of the Board of Directors for 2007. The meeting also
includes a Question and Answer session to share your computer questions
and get advice from fellow computer users.
WACUG is a non-profit general interest computer user group that supports
the Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux operating systems. For more
information, call the WACUG AnswerLine at (703) 370-7649 or visit our
web site at http://www.wacug.org/.
