Yeah, what's wrong is that you don't go to an optometrist and get glasses or
contacts. The eye test is not particularly grueling, let's be serious. I
guarantee that the "SOB" is a state bureaucrat who consulted about 1,000
experts. It's fine to vent, but don't delude yourself.
"What difference does it make," you ask? It's hard enough to drive a
motorcycle safely, let alone when your vision is impaired.
As for the other driver, the system is imperfect--yes. Perhaps he had a good
lawyer, or his judge was too lenient. In any case, you're making a false
correlation here. His poor driving has no bearing on your poor eyesight.
