Subject: What do they call this part of Windows?

I know the bottom right is usually called the system tray. What do they call the bottom center? I've had problems with Xnews and Zone Alarm windows not opening. I click it and it stays at the bottom and no winow appears.

It also sometimes helps to disable all of the helpers. RClick on task bar, choose Properties> Start Menu and uncheck Hide Inactive... and Group Similar ... sk

I can fix them by reinstalling them but that is getting old.
