Subject: Source For Replacement Power Cord

I have a ~15-year-old Farberware Smokeless Grill, and recently its power cord burned through in a sudden puff of black smoke. It's been hell trying to find a replacement. I went first to farberware.com, but it seems that these grills aren't made anymore. In fact, no one seems to make the style of countertop electric grill that uses a steel grating over a conventional heating element; they've been completely supplanted by those flat George Foreman-style grills that take up absurd amounts of counter space. I also have a small, circular one called a Char-B-Q, and when its element wore out, I wasn't able to obtain a replacement or even buy a whole new grill. It's been sitting in a closet for years, awaiting repair. So far I've been to Meyer Appliance and Barron Park Electric in Mountain View. No go. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I might find generic power cords for appliances, and maybe even generic heating elements? Geoff -- "They have gun control in Cuba.
