Thanks to Daniel M for pointing out that the page for Tour of California
info I
referenced was incorrect; the pages for the 2006 and 2007 events were
reversed.
If you go to http://www.chainreaction.com/tour_of_california_07.htm , you'll
get
the correct info & links now. Sorry about the confusion; I was up too late
last
night putting that page together.
And for those of you who did make it out to Canada Road (in Woodside) today
(Saturday), I understand there were 6 or 7 teams out training!
The real fun starts tomorrow (Sunday) at 1pm in San Francisco. Now, how to
get
there? From the SF Peninsula, you can take bike-friendly CalTrain into the
City.
Two options will put you into SF at either 11:36 or 12:36. If you're on
bike,
just ride from there north to the Embarcadero. If you're on foot, you can
take
the new T-Third light rail line, which runs every 20 minutes (according to
http://www.sfmuni.com/cms/mmaps/images/t-third-trilingual.gif) and takes you
to
the start of the race (at the Embarcadero).
If you're coming in from the East Bay, take BART to the Embarcadero station.
If you're heading in by bike the whole way, hopefully you've already figured
things out by now.
One other thing I didn't mention previously. Everyone seems to know about
the
LeMond/Phil Liggett gig at 7pm at Fort Mason, which, unfortunately, is sold
out.
But what's been a bit better kept secret are the two bay area Floyd Landis
events, where he'll appear in-person to raise fund for his legal defense.
Each
benefit is $35/person. On Sunday night-
6-9pm At Jillians
www.jilliansbilliards.com
101 4th St # 170,
San Francisco, CA
http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=4301
And another on Wednesday night, following the finish of the 3rd stage in San
Jose-
6-9pm At The Tied House
www.tiedhouse.com
65 North San Pedro St,
San Jose, CA
http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=4339
See you there-
