(This post keeps not showing up on our servers. Sorry if there's multiple
posts.)
Hypoglycemia causes a condition called hyperinsulinism, in which
insulin becomes hyperactive. What that means is that when a stressful
situation arises and adrenaline raises the blood sugar, the
hyperreactive insulin lowers it to below what it started at. This then
causes more adrenaline to be released and it becomes a vicious cycle.
Hypoglycemia is not diabetes, but definitely can lead to it.
Holistic doctors do glucose tolerance tests that measure that blood
sugar over a 6 hour period.
There have been studies that showed that hypoglycemia increases the
adrenaline and noradrenaline levels tenfold within minutes.
Besides staying away from caffeine and carbohydrates, (especially
refined carbs), inositol (a B vitamin) in large amounts has been used
with good results, for anxiety.
