Are you planning to march against the war with us in Washington on Saturday,
January 27, 2007?
So far, hundreds of North Carolinians have purchased bus tickets to
represent in DC, and many more are trying to decide... If you haven't
invited your friends and coworkers, spread the word, or made plans yourself,
now is the time!!! If you cannot attend you can make a $30 donation thorugh
www.NCpeacejustice.org for a bus seat scholarship, and plan to call and fax
your Representative next week. We've got each other's backs!
A disabled firefighter from Oregon whose son pre-enlisted in the Marines
just wrote to us to say he's marching with us, to "keep my son safe."
A couple from Los Angeles contacted us to say they've cancelled the cruise
they planned to take for their 35th wedding anniversary, in order to march
for peace in Washington, DC. The husband, who served in the US Air Force
during the Vietnam War, says, "I'm taking walks to get ready."
A teacher from Atlanta, Ga., tells us she's bringing 40 8th graders to
Washington for the whole weekend. A teacher in Durham, NC, is organizing
his students to get on the bus too!
Every day people call or send email -- some even write to us the
old-fashioned way -- to say they will be marching in Washington on January
27th to call for an end to this war. There is no doubt: This is the right
action at the right time.

There are still many people who haven't yet heard about the demonstration.
You can help make sure they do:
a.. forward the message to every email address you have;
b.. call your friends, family, and neighbors, and tell them about the
march;
c.. download a leaflet, make copies, and hand them out wherever you can;
d.. write a letter to your local paper and explain why this march is so
important;
e.. call a radio talk show and share what you know about this
demonstration.
In addition to the rally and march on Saturday, other events and activities
are being planned for the weekend:
a.. an interfaith religious service on Saturday morning, before the march
begins;
b.. a full set of organizing sessions and educational briefings on Sunday
morning;
c.. a training session on Sunday afternoon to prepare for the
Congressional Lobby Day;
d.. a full day of lobbying the people who represent us in Congress on
Monday.
The centerpiece of the weekend will be the massive rally and march on
Saturday. We want to make sure Congress hears our message: We elected you to
use your power to end this war!
And to help us send the message, we encourage you to bring:
a.. a pair of shoes for CodePink's "Walk in Their Shoes" action;
b.. a white rose for the "We Will Not Be Silent" display;
c.. signs and posters that include where you are from;
d.. flags and banners that express your ideas;
e.. puppets and other theatrical items;
f.. drums and horns and any musical instrument you play;
g.. any other noise makers you can carry.
Together we will end this war! See you in DC!
