The GOP's dirty deeds of 2006
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2006/11/21/cheat_sheet/
MD: republicans claim they have the support of prominent African Americans,
and truck in Philadelphia homeless men (paid 3 meals and $100) to distribute
the flyers.
VA: legally allows voter registration in more than one place. Phone calls
were made to those people with double registrations, threatening arrest if
they voted. The FBI is investigating.
IL: National Republican Congressional Committee mailed deceptive
announcements, appearing to be from the SS Administration, claiming that
democrat Tammy Duckworth wanted to extend benefits to illegal aliens. She
lost by <5000 votes.
CA: republican candidate is behind letters to democrats with Hispanic last
names, threatening jail time or deportation if they voted. The AG office is
investigating.
Across the country: a million robocalls, paid for by the NRCC, annoying
people up to 7 times, deceptively seeming to come from democrats. Sen.
Obama has introduced a bill to make the practice illegal.
PA: republicans connected to the NRCC, pretending to be progressive dems,
attacked Casey (who beat Santorum) from the left (he is anti-abortion,
pro-gun, and pro-death penalty). They also entirely financially funded the
Green Party candidate.
NY, NM, Va: democrats were told their polling places were changed. In NM,
one call was traced to the local republican party, but democrats were
unsuccessful in getting the calls stopped.
AZ: 3 anti-immigration activists carrying a clipboard, video camera, and a
gun intimidated voters in a "bellwether Hispanic district".
Included in the article, not a repub. dirty trick, nor particularly
significant:
TN: Harold Ford's father passed out sample ballots with his son Jake as the
democratic candidate (for the seat Harold was vacating) when he was really
running as an independent.

Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our
problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the
dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and
millions have been killed because of this obedience. . . Our problem is that
people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation
and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient
while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand
thieves are running the country. That's our problem. - Howard Zinn

Oh Stop! You can list at least as many Democrat dirty deeds. They have no
more claim to honesty. When has there ever been an honest election. I'll bet
the dead are still voting in Chicago as much as they did 40 years ago.
Look at our own state government for sleazy Democrats.
I just LOVE those idiots that point out the evils of the "other party" while
ignoring the ones in their own. "But my party is good so I forgive them.
Besides they stand for good government and dishonesty is OK as long as its
for a 'good' cause".

Voted to oust the Republicans in congress and the Democrats in state
government
